Format

There are 2 types of competitors, Champion Bands and Challenger Bands.
Champion Bands are hired by the event to play on the evenings and pre-selected for The Grand Band Slam.
Challenger Bands is any band who enters through the Open Qualifier.

All parts of this tournament is decided by popular vote by both online and present audiences.

The amount of bands selected from the open qualifier corresponds with the amount of bands signed up for the competition.

Battles

The bands who qualifies into the battles, will go up against one another.

In every battle, the bands will play 3 songs each, alternating turns. After all 6 songs are played, audiences online and present will vote for their winner. That winner goes on to the next round of battle.

When there are only 4 bands left, those 4 will go up against the Champion Bands, i.e. "Champion Round". The battles continues until there is one band left standing as the winner.

The Prizes

· All 4 bands that made it all the way to the Champion Round will be directly qualified to the battles of next years edition, skipping any open qualifiers.

· The audio for every battle from the Champion Round and onward will be recorded for digital release.

· Bands finishing at 3rd and 4th place wins 550 € each.

· 2nd Place wins 900 € and a spot as a Champion Band of the next years edition.

· 1st place wins 2 000 €, a spot as a Champion Band of the next years edition, a full set on main stage on Sunday night of the event.

Lindy Hop Track

4 Levels

6 hours of workshops with international stars and legends.

All-style 50's Track

3 levels

Boogie Woogie, Rhythm'n'Blues or Rock'n'Roll. In this track the name don't matter but the dance says it all. 6 hours of workshops.

Authentic Jazz Solo

2 levels

6 hours of workshops covering fundamental basics and classics for the lower levels and exploring techniques, flow and rhythms with the higher levels.

Collegiate Shag

3 Levels

6 hours packed with Collegiate Shag fundamentals and variations.

Teachers: To Be Announced.

Balboa

3 Levels

6 hours covering all types of subgenres within the Balboa range.

3 Levels

Techniques for improving communication, responsiveness, and harmony with your dance partner.
